A number of Kingston-Frontenac newspapers are available in print at various library branches. The dates and holdings vary, so it’s best to check before you come.

A complete run of the Kingston Whig Standard and its predecessors is available on microfilm at KFPL's Central Branch.

The following electronic databases are accessible via the KFPL website.

Canadian Major Dailies

Access in-library or log in from home using your KFPL library card and 4-digit PIN. The database includes the Kingston Whig-Standard from 1985 - present. Text only (no images.)

The database does not include paid content such as birth, marriage or death notices, or advertisements.

To focus your search on the Kingston Whig-Standard newspaper, choose Publications. Click the letter K and choose Kingston Whig-Standard. Type your search term into the "Search within this publication" box.

PressDisplay

The PressDisplay database includes the most recent two weeks of the Kingston Whig Standard, and many other newspapers.

If you have a KFPL library card, you can access PressDisplay from home, using your Library Card Number. Otherwise, access is limited to KFPL branches.
